There has been high demand for extension and adoption training delivered by the South-West WA Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub (SW WA Hub), with the first four modules being almost fully booked out.
“There is a huge appetite among the Grower Group Alliance (GGA) network and industry for this type of learning,” SW WA Hub Adoption Manager Julianne Hill said.
“It’s great that the SW WA Hub adoption team has the skillset to deliver this program and can assist interested grower groups and other stakeholders to ensure that their extension and adoption activities deliver even better value to farmers on the ground.
“Delivering activities of benefit to end users can be achieved through improved project design, better evaluation of those projects and identifying ways of extending information in a more meaningful way.”
Ms Hill said comments from course participants included: ‘I got so much new stuff out of this workshop. Even though I have worked in extension for a while, there were a lot of learnings that I can apply from this workshop’ and ‘I now have ways of collecting information and summarising/scoping it up for projects’.
Four modules in the six-part training course have already been delivered, with two online workshops yet to be held.
Limited places remain for the ‘facilitation training’ module on June 22 and the ‘group chat mentoring session’ module on June 29.
