Working behind the scenes at the SW WA Hub and the GGA, with the aim of ensuing that things run smoothly and staff are supported, is Team Assistant Sharon Keeler.
“I like helping people and enjoy my job because every day is different and everyone really cares about what they are doing, which makes a difference,” Mrs Keeler said.
“I do the jobs that help the team to achieve its daily and weekly functions and make sure people are where they need to be at the right time!
“My role includes looking after shared email inboxes, managing staff calendars and organising team meetings, which can also involve booking rooms, arranging cars and organising catering.
“I also provide administrative support to the finance manager and enjoy helping with event organisation.”
Mrs Keeler is proud to be part of the SW WA Hub team and supports its vision ‘Thriving producers and communities adapting to our variable environment’ and mission ‘Be a connected and trusted partner building pathways to accelerate innovation and adoption’.
“I have a great respect for Australian agriculture, which is very different to agriculture in Britain where I come from, and a great respect for the broad knowledge and experience of our team,” she said.
“Being part of SW WA Hub has given me a greater insight into agriculture and the climate change challenges that farmers face.
“I also get to see how well everyone works together in our small team, which is important as we need to be very responsive.”
