Australia’s potato processing sector generates large volumes of nutrient‑rich organic waste. But high moisture and microbial instability mean much of it ends up in landfill, contributing to avoidable methane emissions and lost resource value.
A pilot project supported by the SW WA Hub and led by Whole Green Food explored how this waste can be transformed into a safe, stable, high‑value livestock feed ingredient. The aim: reduce environmental impacts and support more circular, resilient supply chains.
Watch the webinar recording with Nick Stamatiou, co‑founder and CEO of WHOLE, to learn about the team’s approach to developing and testing scalable treatments to reduce moisture and enhance nutrient bioavailability, along with the challenges encountered, and key learnings from pilot trials.
This project is supported by the South-West WA Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub through funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.
